| Donations and Sponsorships 97% of all money received goes to the services we provide to the people of Nicaragua. There are many ways that you can help. Financial donations are always needed and we have a number of specific donation programs to select from. Descriptions of each of these programs are shown further down this page.
Or if you prefer, you may choose to donate an amount to an area of greatest need. For ideas about costs for goods in Nicaragua, click here. The amounts shown will give you some ideas about the manner in which your donation will be used and the amounts needed to purchase these goods. You can also make a donation in honor of a special person or event, contact us. All donations are tax deductible. Orphaned children in Nicaragua are at an extra disadvantage as not only are they very poor, but they also suffer the devastation of being abandoned by their parents. With no family able to care for them, the children live in orphanages. And while the Nuns that care for them provide love and care, these are impoverished facilities that often cannot furnish consistent, healthy foods and basic medical needs. An Orphan’s Hope Project sponsorship provides the monies needed for the children to have regular meals consisting of more than basic rice and beans; such as fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, cheese and other nutritious foods.
Additionally, your sponsorship will provide for the children to receive basic medical care and educational materials. Also through this program, we work with the facility to encourage vocational training so the children will be taught skills such as baking, sewing, technology and other skills so they will be able to sustain themselves and their families as adults. A Partial Sponsorship is $150/year (2 sponsors per child) and a Full Sponsorship is $300/year (1 sponsor per child). You can make a difference in a child's life.
For just over $10 a month you can sponsor a student's tuition, books, and uniform. If you would like to sponsor a child at Colegio Nino Jesus de Praga in Nicaragua or at the school in Nejapa, please download and print the form below and mail it along with $140 to the address indicated on the form. Through our CFC program within our Healthcare initiative, you can feed a child for .40c per day. A donation of $75.00 will feed a child throughout the entire school year. To donate send us your tax deductible donation to the address listed. Any donations of chewable vitamins is greatly appreciated as we provide one a day to each of the close to 600 students Pre-K through Grade 6.
You can build a home shelter for a family for only $650.00. Many people in Nicaragua are homeless or live with relatives. It is not uncommon to see 12 or more people living in a space not much larger than a garden shed. The gift of a home brings life to those who desperately need your help. Please select a specific Donation Area preference so we may direct your donation funds appropriately. If you do not have a specific preference, we will direct your donation to the area of greatest need.
*Special note: You will be able to enter your donation amount after clicking "Donate" above and going to the Pay Pal page. Pay Pal charges the Mission of Hope a 3% processing fee that is automatically deducted from your donation. Please help defray this cost and keep our overhead down by adding an additional 3% to your donation amount. Thank you!
In an effort to offer alternate and more convenient sponsorship payment
options, we have added an ACH (Automatic Clearing House) option for
sponsorship payments. This allows the Mission of Hope to electronically
debit your checking or savings account on a monthly basis. Our
sponsorship options are detailed below. Please note there is a nominal
Service Charge added to each monthly payment to help defray the bank service
fees that are charged to us.
* Educational sponsorships are $140/year. Your monthly cost would
be $12.50
* Partial Orphan's Hope Project sponsorships are $150/year. Your
monthly cost would be $13.00
* Full Orphan's Hope Project sponsorships are $300/ year. Your
monthly cost would be $26.00
Payments are deducted the 15th of each month and continue until revoked in
writing. Please note that if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, the
monthly sponsorship amount may be debited the business day before.
