Leslie Means writes: “Happy Father’s Day to everyone who has ever played the role of “dad.” Whether that be a brother, an uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, cousin, friend or in some cases (I have a couple friends with this title) the mom who played the role of dad when he was absent ~ this weekend is all about you!”
In honor of all who fill the role of father and who have been models of loving kindness, warmth and patience, this is for you:
What makes a Dad?
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in Spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need.
Then God combined these qualities when there was nothing more to add, and God knew the masterpiece was complete.. so God called it, “DAD”.(author unknown)
