Have you ever considered a domestic mission experience?

The North Country Mission of Hope is now accepting applications for our fourth domestic mission trip to the Appalachian region of southeast Kentucky, July 25–31, 2026.

This trip is partnered with the Christian Appalachian Project, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving the people of Appalachian Kentucky through community outreach, home repair, and relief work.

The trip is open to anyone 14 and older — whether you’re a student, a parent, or someone who simply wants to give back.

Families find this trip especially valuable. Working together on a real project, away from screens and daily routines, has a way of bringing people back to what's real.

Service has a way of staying with you. The family whose home you repaired doesn’t forget and neither do you. You come home with a wider perspective, a deeper sense of purpose, and a clearer sense of what truly matters.

Projects focus on rehabilitating homes and making emergency repairs for elderly and economically disadvantaged families throughout Appalachian Kentucky.

Don't worry if you think you lack experience. The program excels at matching participants with projects that align with their skills and comfort levels, while helping them grow along the way.

The work and the place matter, but they're only part of the story. After more than 20 mission trips at home and abroad, what I remember most are the bonds formed, the lives touched, and the ways those experiences changed me. Ask anyone who's been on a mission trip, and they’ll tell you the same.

Estimated trip costs are as follows:

On-site costs (housing, meals, and project materials): $350–$400 per person

Travel costs (transportation and overnight hotel): $250–$300 per person

Total estimated cost per person: $600–$700

We’d love to have you join us. For more information, email jpcarlin1963@gmail.com.
