As I sit here in the Mission Auditorium, writing the summary of today's activities, I'm listening to about 9 mission participants, of all ages, talking about their day. I am overjoyed to hear the exchanges, laughter, and bond being formed among the members of Mission group 76.

Today started again very early, with everyone making it down to make their lunches by 6:15. We got a great compliment from Kristi, our group coordinator, who said we are very organized and always ready on time or early. She asked if we could teach this skill to the other groups that come.

The level of enthusiasm and attention to detail is not only apparent in the group's ability to be where they are asked to be on time and with an upbeat demeanor, but also very apparent on the job site.

The tasks being accomplished on the job sites were very similar to yesterday.

The Blue team is closing in on finishing at Martha's house and expects to be finished tomorrow. They finished up in one of the bedrooms, have most of the flooring done, the ceiling textured, and painting done. They have some small finish work projects to work on tomorrow.

As you can see from the opening photo, they also had a great time while getting a lot of work done.

The Yellow team also made significant progress, but their projects are still a way from being finished. There was wainscoting, painting, subfloor, bathroom surround, and vanity projects all being worked on simultaneously. The hope is that by the end of the day tomorrow, one or more of the projects can be checked off the list.

Tonight's meeting was an open discussion about everyone's day. It was a lively discussion, and it was comforting to see how the barriers had come down and the mission participants were able to open up and connect with the group and each other.

The second day, the focus of the group shifts from the work itself to the people they worked with and for. It is where the group begins to form its identity and personality.

Attached are some photos that show the personality of being fun-loving and hardworking.
