The Mission has only just begun

Yesterday's blog headline was Mission accomplished. While that is true in one sense, the reality is that the true Mission of group 76 has just begun. As our executive director emeritus Sr. Debbie Blow always told us: "Your Mission truly begins when you get home."
The true fruit of our Mission is only experienced when we share the joy and lessons we've experienced over the last week with our family, friends, and community, spreading the love and light of Christ to those we touch and who God brings into our daily lives. If we compartmentalize or segregate those feelings, those lessons, and the beauty given to us through service to others in God's name, then we have missed an opportunity to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.
I leave you with a prayer written for Mission 76 as we continue our Mission path at home.
Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together this week.
When we arrived on Sunday, Kelli gave us the internet password Share Christ's love.
What we may not have realized in that moment was that this code is not only the key to opening up the internet, but they are the three words that give perspective and meaning to our service this week, and if we allow, will bring meaning and perspective to our entire lives and everything we do.
Father, You are love and mercy, and out of love, You created each of us in Your image and likeness with dignity and unique talents and gifts.
You ask only that we honor you, and ourselves by sharing these gifts and talents with those you bring before us each day, and in that way Share Christ's Love with the world.
We ask You for the courage and strength to Share Christ's Love today and every day of our lives.
May Your love for us and our love for You be reflected in our service today and every day.
We ask this in your Son's name.
AMEN
